Britten's Aldeburgh
John Craig. After a long creative and publishing process, we finally have this handsome edition in. It contains over forty wood engravings by Craig with his accompanying text. Begun as an octavo book of black and white engravings with text, it grew into a quarto. The book presents a series of double page spreads, each illustrating a stage in Benjamin Britten's walks around Aldeburgh during which he composed much of his music. Some of the engravings are printed in colored inks, some on colored papers, all in a variety of shapes and sizes designed around the conception of each individual spread. Bound in crash canvas and housed in a slipcase. (13.5 x 10 inches.)
