Press Statement: "The Brown Ziggurat Press was founded in 1985 by Professor Walter Feldman who introduced the hands-on study of book arts to the university community. In 1990 Professor Feldman deeded the press and its equipment to the university."

The book consists of an essay by Daniel Asa Rose ’71, P ’17 and a surprise pop-up on the last page that depicts Perelman’s famous portrait by his friend Al Hirschfeld."

Introduction: "This edition of S. J. Perelman, remembering the life of one of Brown University's many contributors to American culture, continues the mission of The Brown Ziggurat Press in bringing prose and poetry to the public through the form of the artist's book.

"In 1991 the press published Denise Levertov's Range to commemorate the 100th anniversary of women at Brown University and is proud in 2014 to commemorate with this volume the 50th anniversary of the Rockefeller Library at Brown University. All participants in this endeavor have at one time studied or taught at Brown University."
